It really did seem that with the launch of the Galaxy S5, Samsung wouldn’t launch another piece of hardware any soon. Shortly after, we saw rumors of an unknown device with a model no. and now it is spotted in user profiles too.
We have learnt that the GS5 Active might arrive as Samsung’s model SM-G870, and that carrier variants may be coming to AT&T and Sprint. There’s still no sign of a Sprint model, but the UAProf for the SM-G870A (the A pointing to AT&T) has been spotted on Samsungs server.
We really don’t know much about the device at this moment except the fact that it would be carrying a 1080p display, what do you wish it has? Would you like the fingerprint sensor too?
An unknown Samsung device with model number SM-G870A has been leaked through Indian import site, Zauba. The device is for research and development purpose. Although, there is no official word so far, Galaxy Club claims the SM-G870 could be Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. There are no real specs we know about this device yet, but as far as the screen is concerned, it it expected to be a Super AMOLED one with Android KitKat 4.4 onboard. We really hope Samsung does not cut down the specs way too much like it always does with it’s ‘mini’ series.
The GooPhone S5 is really very much alike to the Galaxy S5 and that might be a good or bad thing depending on whether you like or hate the Galaxy S5. On the specs side you get very different specs from the GS5 such as a 2GHz MediaTek 6592 octa-core CPU. Other specs include 2GB RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, a 13MP cam with LED flash, 5MP front-cam, 2800 mAh battery, dual-SIM support, 32GB, microSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3G support and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Those specs really aren’t bad considering that one gets all that at just $300 unlocked! Would you consider this phone?

Murtazin claims the Galaxy S5 will be announced on Sunday, February 23, at 6PM, and that it will be in stores by the end of April. His tweet goes as follows : “Samsung Galaxy S5 launch – 18.00. Barcelona. 23 February. Price the same. Launch – end of April. Specs – u know them new touchwiz ;)”
Samsung has moved away from MWC to release their new flagships recently, but what do you think, does it make sense for Samsung to return to trade shows for their launch?
A new report from South Korea says that Samsung has started mass-producing 5.25-inch displays for the upcoming Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone. DDaily reports that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would come with a 5.25 inch AMOLED display with a very high 2560*1600 resolution – that is 2.5k!
Various other sources say that Samsung would launch this device earlier than expected so let’s just wait for the CES and MWC 2014.
