Well on paper the Galaxy S5 Mini takes the cake but things do boil down to other subjective things like overall user experience and functionality.
Quad-Core 1.2GHz Vs Quad-Core 1.4GHz
The G3 Beat has a Snapdragon 400 but the one on the S5 Mini is an undisclosed processor, hopefully not an Exynos.
1 GB Vs 1.5 GB
There is hardly any difference between the both with 512MB of more RAM on the S5 mini.
8 GB Vs 16 GB
The S5 mini wins here with the base model offering 16 GB instead of 8 on the G3 Beat. Both have microSD card slots.
8 MP Laser Focus Vs 8 MP AF
1.3 MP FF Vs 2.1 MP
The laser focusing system on the G3 is much better so we trust the beat to have faster focus.
2540mAh Vs 2100mAh
The G3 Beat is the winner with a noticeable high capacity battery.
No Vs IP67
We have nothing other than specs to lay side by side and both look like worthy opponents. Let’s wait for a month or so till both are available on retail shelves.
It really did seem that with the launch of the Galaxy S5, Samsung wouldn’t launch another piece of hardware any soon. Shortly after, we saw rumors of an unknown device with a model no. and now it is spotted in user profiles too.
We have learnt that the GS5 Active might arrive as Samsung’s model SM-G870, and that carrier variants may be coming to AT&T and Sprint. There’s still no sign of a Sprint model, but the UAProf for the SM-G870A (the A pointing to AT&T) has been spotted on Samsungs server.
We really don’t know much about the device at this moment except the fact that it would be carrying a 1080p display, what do you wish it has? Would you like the fingerprint sensor too?
An unknown Samsung device with model number SM-G870A has been leaked through Indian import site, Zauba. The device is for research and development purpose. Although, there is no official word so far, Galaxy Club claims the SM-G870 could be Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. There are no real specs we know about this device yet, but as far as the screen is concerned, it it expected to be a Super AMOLED one with Android KitKat 4.4 onboard. We really hope Samsung does not cut down the specs way too much like it always does with it’s ‘mini’ series.
The GooPhone S5 is really very much alike to the Galaxy S5 and that might be a good or bad thing depending on whether you like or hate the Galaxy S5. On the specs side you get very different specs from the GS5 such as a 2GHz MediaTek 6592 octa-core CPU. Other specs include 2GB RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, a 13MP cam with LED flash, 5MP front-cam, 2800 mAh battery, dual-SIM support, 32GB, microSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3G support and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Those specs really aren’t bad considering that one gets all that at just $300 unlocked! Would you consider this phone?

Touchwiz is now revamped quite a lot, with what Samsung says most “relevant” content. The overall design is now flat, more than ever. Aside from the usual colors, there will 2 variants of the Galaxy S5 : One with the Snapdragon 801 and one with the Octa-core Exynos CPU.
Eldar Murtazin, a well-connected blogger with a relatively good track-record when it comes to leaks, just tweeted that the Galaxy S5 will launch on February 23, ahead of MWC 2014 Barcelona.
Murtazin claims the Galaxy S5 will be announced on Sunday, February 23, at 6PM, and that it will be in stores by the end of April. His tweet goes as follows : “Samsung Galaxy S5 launch – 18.00. Barcelona. 23 February. Price the same. Launch – end of April. Specs – u know them 🙂 new touchwiz ;)”
Samsung has moved away from MWC to release their new flagships recently, but what do you think, does it make sense for Samsung to return to trade shows for their launch?
A new report from South Korea says that Samsung has started mass-producing 5.25-inch displays for the upcoming Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone. DDaily reports that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would come with a 5.25 inch AMOLED display with a very high 2560*1600 resolution – that is 2.5k!
Various other sources say that Samsung would launch this device earlier than expected so let’s just wait for the CES and MWC 2014.
