What a way to start the week off? EVLeaks earlier this morning leaked out some official looking press renders of the upcoming HTC One Max ‘phablet’ which is slated for launch later this year and set to compete directly with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III.
The HTC One Max render leaked by EVLeaks is apparently of a non-final version of the device, but there are some slightly noticeable changes to the device’s design. The HTC One Max seems to have a more conspicuous plastic rim around the edges, similar to the one found on the HTC One Mini, there’s also the obvious addition of a larger display. On the rear of the One Max you’ll see the camera’s flash has had a change of position, but other than that, it appears to follow HTC’s new design language. The HTC One Max has been rumoured to pack a speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC and a larger battery alongside HTC’s new UltraPixel cameras and their Sense 5 UI.
An exact date on which the HTC One Max will launch is yet to be revealed, but rumours suggest that HTC will launch the HTC One Max on September 5 at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany, just a day after the Samsung Galaxy Note III is set to be unveiled.
The HTC One Max has been lingering in rumourland for quite some time now, but the latest leak seems to confirm the existence of the device, if its real that is. The HTC One Max will apparently be a larger version of the HTC One just like the HTC One Mini was a smaller version. The device was initially leaked by O2, a UK carrier, in a inventory log.
The HTC One Max was allegedly caught on camera by an insider who promptly provided it to ePrice, a Taiwanese site. The HTC One Max will allegedly launch early next month at IFA 2013 which is set to be held in Berlin Germany. The One Max has been rumoured to feature a full metal body just like its smaller siblings, and will feature a large 5.9-inch 1080p touch display as well as a 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a hefty 3,200mAh battery. The HTC One Max is set to take on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III and may just give HTC a foot to stand on in its constant war for a larger share of the Android market, currently dominated by larger players such as Samsung and LG.
The HTC One Max could possibly be HTC’s knight in shining armour, quite literally, but it remains to be seen whether or not HTC will be able to make the device competitive enough in terms of features compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note III which is rumoured to pack quite the punch. Who will you be rooting for, HTC or Samsung?
