Several months ago, we reported that YouTube founders, Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, were working on a new social video service called MixBit, which they were more than happy to tease.

Over the months, MixBit has gotten lost in our distant memories, but today it’s back and it looks quite appealing. MixBit has been launched officially in the form of an iOS application that records a 16 second video clip, with a twist. Videos are submitted anonymously and no comments are available making trolls all the more less and remixing so much better.

MixBit is backed by Google Ventures and Chen & Hurley have promised an Android version will become available in the Google Play store in the coming weeks.
