If Bending, Flexing and Self-Healing are the things you look for in a Phone then LG has got you covered
LG’s plan to beat Samsung are straightforward and confusing at the same time. To stay ahead of the game LG has heavily invested on a device that has three neat tricks up it’s sleeve- A curved display, bending phone with a self-healing back.
According to the famous tipster @evleaks, this phone would be simultaneously available in Korea and the U.S. with folks in the States even getting carrier support for this device. But the majority of the media is still sceptical about the real uses of these new features and the price at which they would come in.
As of now there is no news on availability or pricing as such but we do expect this device to carry a one of it’s kind price tag but we wish these new quirks really live upto the expectations.
With LG having remained mum on the subject of wireless charging when they launched the LG G2 last week, Verizon has stepped up and claim that the Verizon-branded LG G2 features wireless charging exclusively to them, most likely only in the US.
The LG G2 pre-order page on Verizon’s website shows off their own branded LG G2 and mentions that it features wireless charging exclusively, it also shows a redesigned rear for the Verizon LG G2 which is more than likely a confirmation to their claim. It remains to be seen whether this exclusivity extends only to the US or globally, especially since wireless charging is yet to catch on in the mass market. The LG G2 features a speedy 2.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 13MP camera with OIS, to name but a few and aims to steal some market share away from the likes of Samsung.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on wireless charging, voice your opinion below!
It seems that LG’s next step in their new product line up is set to make its appearance in the near future, maybe as soon as IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany next month. The product being what you ask? The LG G Pad tablet silly.
According to Greek publication, TechBlog, a source inside LG has confirmed to them some key details regarding the upcoming tablet from the South Koreans. According to them, the G Pad will be small enough to fit in your pocket and roughly the same size as the new Google Nexus 7. It will apparently feature an edge-to-edge 8.3-inch display with Full HD Plus (1,920×1,200) resolution alongside a quad core processor, presumably the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC they used inside the recently launched LG G2 flagship device and of course 2GB of RAM. On the rear there will be an aluminum shell, which could make things a lot more interesting.
Considering IFA 2013 is just less than a month away, we are likely to see some definitive leaks before the actual unveiling, but then again, with three weeks to go, do we really need leaks?
LG Korea recently kicked off an ill-fated marketing campaign in order to promote the company’s new LG G2 flagship device, during their recent ‘G in the cloud’ promotional event, 20 people were injured during a marketing stunt that involved toy guns and a lot of balloons.
LG Korea recently kicked off their marketing efforts to promote the new LG G2, the first such event involved letting loose hundreds of helium filled balloons carrying vouchers for free devices, but what happened in turn was quite understandable. An eager crowd pulled out BB guns in order to shoot down the balloons and claim their prizes, which in turn injured 20 people. LG has promised to take care off all the medical costs related to the injuries of the bystanders and has cancelled all their subsequent events, which probably involved shooting bricks with vouchers on into crowds.
The company may struggle to compete with their fellow South Korean Samsung, but the LG G2 may very well turn out to be quite a success thanks to key carrier tie-ups by the company and some speedy releases. Do you think LG has what it takes to pick a fight with the likes of Samsung?
LG today finally officially launched the successor to last year’s LG Optimus and this year’s LG Optimus G Pro in the form of the LG G2, looks like the company will keep it short and sweet. The newly announced LG G2 has leaked quite a few times before and today some rumours were finally confirmed and LG may very well have what it takes to take on the likes of Samsung.
The LG G2 was launched with quite a few surprises despite being leaked multiples times and LG having launched plenty of accessories and other accompanyments for the device. The LG G2 packs quite a punch and features a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS touch display, a 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear facing camera with OIS and a 2.1MP front facing camera. The LG G2 features a 3,000mAh battery to keep it up and running for quite a while and will launch with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box although an Android 4.3 update is likely in the works. The G2 features rear places volume keys as well as a power/unlock key, apparently to make the awkward movements with such a large device a little more bearable.
The LG G2 is set to launch in a wide variety of global markets over the next two months with the US’ four main carriers in on the count. Pricing is still a mystery, but it is likely to cost $199 on a two year contract.
The LG G2 is set to launch this week and despite the fact that LG has already announced boatloads of accessories for the device as well as ringtones and more, there are still quite a few questions surrounding the other South Koreans’ upcoming flagship. NowwhereElse allegedly got hand of one of their manuals which had quite a lot to say about the device.
Earliers rumours of the LG G2 stated that there would be a fingerprint reader between the two volume buttons of the device, but the manual suggests that it is in fact just a power/unlock button. The manual also stated that the LG G2 will feature a removable battery, 2,610mAh in size to be exact, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion as well as surprisingly a nano-SIM slot, meaning that the LG G2 will be the fourth smartphone to feature such a slot, with the Apple iPhone 5 and recently announced Moto X sharing the feature. Rumours suggest that the LG G2 will also pack a 5.2-inch 1080p display in addition to a 13MP rear camera. The G2 is set to be unveiled in two days time.
The LG G2 will feature rear buttons because it is apparently too thin to feature them on the sides, the side bezels are allegedly extremely narrow. Whatever else we need to know, it’s sure to be revealed within the coming days. Are you excited to see what LG has been up to? Let us know below!
As the world momentarily forgot about LG’s August 7 event, the company took some time to remind everyone that they have something special planned for August 7 in New York City. The company has sent out a new teaser of the event that will most definitely showcase the LG G2 flagship device, because the company confirmed it in their tease.
With over a month before LG takes on the big guys with their latest flagship, the upcoming super slim LG G2 with it’s almost non-existent bezel.
With Samsung’s latest flagship setting the world on fire, it’s only a matter of time before LG attempts to take back some market share with an Earth shattering new flagship, which is what they are attempting with the LG Optimus G’s successor.
It’s only a matter of time until we get to see the next LG flagship, with recent rumours heating up for the upcoming ‘super’ phone. The LG G2, yes no more Optimus according to rumours, has been tipped for an August 7 launch.
