Just over a week after LG introduced their latest flagship device in the form of the LG G2, the South Korean smartphone maker’s next variant of their earlier flagship for the year has leaked, the LG Optimus G Pro in White and heading to AT&T.
The LG Optimus G Pro is by no means inferior to the LG G2, it packs quite a punch and a lot of value for money. AT&T currently offers the Optimus G Pro for $99 on a two year contract or for $440 once-off, more than likely making it the smartphone bargain of the year. EVLeaks has leaked an image of the upcoming AT&T branded LG Optimus G Pro in White and boy does it look good. Besides having a new skin colour, the device will apparently remain much the same as the Black model, but with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 600 SoC and 13MP camera, it could take a chunk out of Samsung’s American sales.
The LG G2 is expected to hit the US within the coming weeks in both Black and White for $199 on a two year contract.
LG Korea recently kicked off an ill-fated marketing campaign in order to promote the company’s new LG G2 flagship device, during their recent ‘G in the cloud’ promotional event, 20 people were injured during a marketing stunt that involved toy guns and a lot of balloons.
LG Korea recently kicked off their marketing efforts to promote the new LG G2, the first such event involved letting loose hundreds of helium filled balloons carrying vouchers for free devices, but what happened in turn was quite understandable. An eager crowd pulled out BB guns in order to shoot down the balloons and claim their prizes, which in turn injured 20 people. LG has promised to take care off all the medical costs related to the injuries of the bystanders and has cancelled all their subsequent events, which probably involved shooting bricks with vouchers on into crowds.
The company may struggle to compete with their fellow South Korean Samsung, but the LG G2 may very well turn out to be quite a success thanks to key carrier tie-ups by the company and some speedy releases. Do you think LG has what it takes to pick a fight with the likes of Samsung?
The Android smart phone wars have been heating up as of late, with most OEMs offering great products as of late. Last night HTC however was awarded with the ‘Hottest Phone of 2013’ award at the Mobile Awards, leaving HTC UK to gloat and poke fun at Samsung on Twitter, until things started heating up.
Life’s not all that good over at LG with their latest project finding its way into the wild to show the world what’s coming. What you see above may very well be the upcoming LG Optimus G2.
The wait is almost over for those of you in the US that want to get your hands on some LG Optimus G Pro goodness. The full HD capable smart phone’s pre-orders have gone live over at AT&T, with the device shipping on May 7 to reach you in time for the 10th.
LG has been on the war path against the likes of HTC and more specifically Samsung with its latest line of Android smart phones, their flagship for the year has everyone’s tongues hanging in anticipation, but until now little information has been available on when the LG Optimus G Pro will be coming to the US with it only being available in South Korea and Japan thus far. LG has sent out invites to ‘share the genius’.
