Lenovo bought Ashton Kucher as a Product Engineer back in October, it really seemed obvious at the time that this relationship was more of a celebrity endorsement, although Ashton seemed serious about his work on Lenovo Yoga tablets and smartphones.
Recent news from the company says that both Lenovo and Ashton are working on limited edition devices that will be released later this year and since Ashton isn’t really an Engineer he’ll be helping the team out on designing the User Experience.
In an interview with Re/Code, Lenovo Chief Marketing Officer David Roman said, “I know on one level, it sounds corny, but it is real. He not only sees himself as an engineer, but he is an engineer. If he sees a problem, he wants to solve it.”

Lenovo announced an all new Vibe Z high-end smartphone and well we know what their inspiration was(ahem!). This device is powered by our favourite Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 5.5inch, 1080p display on the front.
With it’s launch in Chine to begin with , Lenovo plans to cover the rest of the Asian Makets soon. What is interesting is for the first time has an OEM come out and said that they are incorporating a technology from a partner – Sony. has provided the camera technology for the Vibe Z’s f1.8 13MP Exmor RS sensor.
There is no information regarding pricing and availability yet but we do know Lenovo likes to play in the middle segment and it’s prices never set benchmarks.
