without comments

Untitled

Apple announced the all new and revolutionary Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S earlier today, alongside the announcement that the Apple iPhone 4 as well as the Apple iPhone 5 would be discontinued as of today. Apple also revealed the launch dates and countries for their new devices, which many have found rather intriguing.

The Apple iPhone 4S will go 8GB only and be the base level iPhone, the entry level option if you wish for a more direct term. The Apple iPhone 4S will be available in Black and White. The Apple iPhone 5C will be available in White, Pink, Blue, Green and Yellow. The Apple iPhone 5S will be available in Space Grey, White and Gold with White accents.

The Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will go on sale on Friday, September 20 in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK, with pre-orders kicking off on Friday, September 13.

The Apple iPhone 4S will be free on a two-year contract for the 8GB model. The Apple iPhone 5C will cost $549 ($99 on contract) for the 16GB model and $649 ($199 on contract) for the 32GB model. Curiously enough the Apple iPhone 5S will cost $649 ($199 on contract) for the 16GB model, $749 ($299 on contract) for the 32GB model and $849 ($399 on contract) for the 64 GB model, sadly the rumored Apple iPhone 5S 128GB was nowhere to be seen.

New iPhones Announced: All You Need To Know

without comments

Untitled

The day of reckoning has finally arrived, with the company having announced their long rumoured Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S along with some new tidbits regarding the future of the iPhone. Here are all the highlights of today’s event and all the announcements.

The Apple iPhone 5 is no more, Apple has discontinued the smartphone just a year after first launching. The Apple iPhone 5 will be replaced by the Apple iPhone 5C as well as the improved iPhone 5S. iOS 7 will begin its global rollout to supported devices on September 18, which is next week, so mark your calendars. The Apple iPhone 5C is a thicker version of the Apple iPhone 5 with a polycarbonate plastic rear shell and a larger battery along with an upgraded front camera and a downgraded price, albeit barely downgraded.

The Apple iPhone 5C will cost $99 on a two year contract for the 16GB model, $199 for the 32GB model. Off contract pricing will start at a harsh $549, so save up those pennies. The iPhone 5C will come in white, pink, yellow, green and blue colour options and is expected to go on sale officially on September 20. The Apple iPhone 5S is another story. It has a wider aperture, but still 8MP camera, alongside a dual LED flash, one LED white and the other yellow for better low light colours apparently. The iPhone 5S also kills the black/slate model for a black/grey model, in addition to the white/silver and white/gold colour options.

The Apple iPhone 5S comes with a new fingerprint scanner that can rear your fingerprint from Mars, no not really. The iPhone 5S packs a larger battery and some big internal restructuring, but on the outside it looks pretty much the same as the iPhone 5. Interestingly there is no 128GB model, at least for now. The iPhone 5S will also go on sale on September with prices starting at $199 for the 16GB model on a two year contract. It packs a new Apple A7 SoC with a 64-bit processor which is said to be a great improvement over its predecessors. There is also a M7 chip which controls all of the internal motion sensors.

Apple sadly did not announce any other new products such as the iPad 5, iPad Mini 2, iTV or iWatch, but then again, are we really all that surprised? Nokia has already taken a stab at Apple, especially in the photography department, but then Nokia isn’t really even a company anymore, so who’s talking? Keep an eye as we bring you some more iPhone news pretty soon!

September 10: What will we be seeing from Apple? Two new iPhones? Three new iPads? An iTV? An iWatch?

without comments

appleinvite

Over the years Apple events have become synonymous with huge fanfare and a media uproar, which is easily understandable thanks to the fact that the Apple brand has become a drug that everyone seems to want. Any Apple related content shoots pageviews sky high, even unfavourable content by trolls. So, what does Apple have in store for us on Tuesday? What can we look forward to?

Apple iPhone 5C

Rumour has it that Apple is finally bringing out a cheaper version of their iconic Apple iPhone smartphone. Some say it will replace the iPhone 5 as the second to the throne, other suggest it will take the place that the iPhone 4 currently holds, as the lowest end iPhone available, and third from the crown. It’s likely to be free on contracts, with the iPhone 5 going to $99 and the iPhone 5S going to $199.

Then there is the question of what the ‘C’ stands for? It seems to stand for ‘colour’, which the iPhone 5C will apparently spare no expense on. The Apple iPhone 5C will apparently come in Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, White and Black variants, all of which featuring plastic rear shells to cut costs. Additionally the iPhone 5C is said to be virtually identical to the iPhone 5 in terms of internal hardware, although there are whispers of microSIM card slots being favoured over nanoSIM slots.

Apple iPhone 5S

The Apple iPhone 5S is said to be this year’s flagship Apple iPhone smartphone. Upgrades are said to include a larger battery, faster connectivity, a larger camera with dual LED flash, a faster SoC with more RAM in addition to a new 128GB variant. Some say that the Apple iPhone 5S will not feature a 16GB variant anymore, with the 32GB model being the most affordable iPhone 5S offering, which makes a lot of logical sense. The iPhone 5S is also rumoured to bring two new colour variants in the form of a gold variant as well as a graphite variant.

Apple iPad Mini 2

The successor to last year’s much lauded Apple iPad Mini is expected to bring loads of improvements over its predecessor and knowing Apple, that is quite an understatement. Among the upgrades expected, the most significant is expected to be the addition of a ‘Retina’ display, double the pixel density of the current generation. The Apple iPad Mini 2 is also expected to carry a plastic rear logo, instead of a printed on one in addition to a larger battery, faster processor, more RAM and hopefully an upgraded camera.

Apple iPad Mini

Some rumours over the last few months have hinted at a more affordable iPad Mini, based on the first generation, but with some subtleties such as a plastic rear shell and the lack of a rear camera. Some even hint at it being more affordable than the new Google Nexus 7, which could give Apple quite an advantage over Google’s ailing Android tablet market.

Apple iPad 5

The biggest thing since the introduction of the first iPad is coming. Apple is expected to announce their slimmest, most efficient Apple iPad to date. The redesigned Apple iPad 5 is expected to feature a design similar to that of the iPad Mini with rounded corners and smaller bezels on the side. Additionally the larger iPad is expected to get some weight reduction and a new display technology which is likely to make it slimmer than ever before. If that doesn’t sound appetizing then you must lack some brain cells.

Apple iTV

Apple is expected to make their debut in the smart TV market with an actual TV instead of a small box that you plug into your existing TV set. The Apple iTV is expected to be a super slim, super efficient TV set with extraordinary viewing angles, crisp images, and the best of all, dense displays. It is said to run on Apple iOS and bring the iTunes store filled with dedicated applications and video content to your living room. The Apple iTV will supposedly even allow streaming from your iDevices as well as allowing your iDevices to be used as a remote.

Apple iWatch

Apple is expected to launch their first entrant into the smartwatch game in the form of the Apple iWatch. With Sony’s SmartWatch 2 lacking appeal, and Samsung’s Galaxy Gear lacking support for older devices and carrying a huge pricetag; it seems as if all Apple has to do is bring out an analogue watch to win the race. Of course Apple will not be the first to the smartwatch race, but they may very well make the first relevant entrant to the category which is expected to become the next best thing among the avid buyer. Not much is known by the iWatch, but it may likely not appear until early 2014 if most rumours are to be believed.

Whatever happens on Tuesday, you can expect the whole internet to be watching and waiting in anticipation. iOS 7 is expected to officially launch, leaving many that don’t know about the impending update in for quite the surprise once they update. Apple always puts the biggest of smiles on their customers’s faces and Tuesday is expected to be no different, despite the increasing amount of early leaks poisoning Apple’s usual surprise introductions.

What would you like to see Apple announce on Tuesday? Let us know below, share the excitement!

Xiaomi Mi3 announced, perfect device for their global expansion

without comments

XiaoMi-Mi3-600x400

With all eyes on IFA 2013 in Berlin, Xiaomi shook Beijing this morning when they took the curtain off of their latest flagship, the Xiaomi Mi3 which packs more than just a punch and brings great value for money. Sadly, the company still hasn’t announced any plans to expand outside of the Chinese market.

The Xiaomi Mi3 is the pretty much the ideal smartphone for the up-and-coming smartphone manufacturer to make their global market debut. With Tegra 4 and Snapdragon 800 flavoured models, they definitely mean business with the new Mi3. The Xiaomi Mi3 features a 5-inch FHD IPS display, either a Nvidia Tegra 4 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 64GB of storage, a 13MP Sony IMX135 camera with a sapphire lens and a 3,050mAh battery that apparently charges quite fast with the 2A current charger included in the box. The 16GB model is set to go on sale for $330 with the 64GB model going for $410, both quite attractive prices. It’s set to come in blue, yellow, pink, white and black colours.

Xiaomi made headlines when they launched the bargain of the century in the form of the $130 Xiaomi Red Rice, they then went on to conclude record sales and pre-orders of the device and raise additional funding that valued the company at over $10 billion, considerably more than the worth of Nokia, BlackBerry and HTC, all the once large giants. Xiaomi recently hired Google’s Hugo Barra to oversee their entrance into the global market which they are sure to rule if their current growth and value for money continues.

Alleged Apple iPhone 5C has its inyards splattered all over the internet, may be the rumoured iPhone Mini

without comments

apple-iphone-5c

What is cheap and features an Apple logo? Nothing original that’s for sure, but the illustrious, and long rumoured, iPhone Mini, believed to be officially called the Apple iPhone 5C promises to bring the popular premium Apple iPhone to lower price points when it is expected to launch later this year. Said device has even had most of its insides splashed on the interwebs today as no one believes leaks of the supposed plastic rear covers of the device anymore.

IC Tech seems to have caught yet another glimpse of the so called budget iPhone, or iPhone 5C or iPhone Mini, this time having most of its insides shown to the world. One of these parts are allegedly the Apple iPhone 5C’s new front screen and bezel which looks quite similar to that of the Apple iPhone 5, with changes to its plugs, and by the looks of it a slightly thicker bezel. The Apple iPhone 5C has also allegedly had its camera module leaked, showing off a 8MP sensor similar to the one found on the more premium Apple iPhone 5. The Apple iPhone 5C will apparently be the company’s complete low end offering when the next flagship is announced and besides featuring a cheaper plastic rear, it will also have the same 4-inch display found on the iPhone 5.

The Apple iPhone 5C, or iPhone Mini or iPhone Lite, or iPad Nano, whatever you call it, may be one of the company’s best sellers, if it is real that is. The company is expected to announce the device alongside the next line of iPads and this year’s iPhone flagship device, with a date somewhere in September being rumoured. Is a budget iPhone on your to-buy list? Let us know below!
