With just four days to go before its official launch, the Apple iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 have leaked. The iPad 5 has been confirmed to feature the new TouchID fingerprint sensor, while the iPad Mini 2 will not feature a TouchID sensor.
The Apple iPad Mini 2 was thus far assumed to join the iPhone 5s and iPad 5’s fingerprint sensor bandwagon, but according to new leaked images from CTechCN shows that it will not be doing so, presumably to keep the iPad Mini 2’s costs low, especially considering that the introduction of its new Retina display will push up manufacturing costs. Outside, the iPad Mini 2 is expected to stay pretty much the same as its predecessor, but the inside is expected to change quite a bit with the introduction of a 64-bit A7 SoC and an enlarged battery.
The iPad Mini 2 is expected to outsell the larger iPads this year as the push for smaller tablets continues and the new Retina display pushes the tablet into new frontiers.
Ever since Apple introduced the new iPhone 5s last month, one burning question that everyone has been asking, was whether or not the upcoming Apple iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 with Retina would be coming with Apple’s new TouchID fingerprint sensor. Well, that may very likely be the case!
The boys over at Unbox Therapy has gotten their hands on a front display cover of the upcoming Apple iPad 5 and found that the home button’s hole was different to its predecessor’s, which featured an ordinary home button. They found that the iPad 5’s home button hole is almost the exact size as the iPhone 5s’s TouchID sensor’s. Putting two and two together makes it pretty clear that Apple’s upcoming iPad 5 will almost certainly be fitted with a TouchID fingerprint sensor, and the iPad Mini 2 is likely to feature one as well. Improved security, brand new designs; it seems that Apple’s shares are set to get a major spike when the next iPads are unveiled later this month.
The iPad Mini 2 will apparently come in a golden hue where the iPad 5 will feature the introduction of a Space Gray model. Something tells me that we’re in for a treat. What do you say?
Many Apple fans were mighty disappointed earlier this year when Apple failed to announce a single new iDevice at their annual World Wide Developer Conference in San Francisco, but it seems that the long wait may be over after even more parts have leaked online depicting what could be the Apple iPad 5 and iPhone 5C (or Mini)’s housings.
The upcoming Apple iPad Mini successor has been making headlines all over the world over the last few days after analysts suggested the obvious; that the Apple iPad Mini 2 will feature a Retina display, made by Samsung, but today things got a bit more interesting after the device’s rear panel allegedly leaked showing that there would be no major design changes to the low cost tablet offering from Apple.
As competitors running the competing Android OS continue to get more dense screens, the Apple iPad Mini is long overdue for a ‘Retina’ packing version, which is precisely what Apple apparently had planned, but now there’s delays.
It’s been a while since Apple announced their next iterations of the iPad line of tablets and as the year moves on, rumours heighten. Apparently the next iPad and iPad Mini models are coming soon.
