iWatch Rumors Suggest A UV Light Sensor, September Launch Expected?!

close

The more we read about iOS 8 and learn how Apple is targeting fitness with deeper integration in the system, the more we get confident about the fact that  the iWatch is not far away from seeing the light of day.

While the wearable tech. scenario is not new anymore considering that the competition is already catching up, with the latest announcement of Android Wear and partners like Motorola and LG, things are more heated up then ever. So how is Apple planning to differentiate themselves? The latest rumor suggests and interesting addition of a UV sensor which shall help users from getting excessive exposure to sun and avoid unnecessary sunburn.

According to the source, the device will include a special chip to measure this:

These chips measure UV exposure to aid those with elevated risk of sunburn or just a general concern about excessive sun exposure, and we believe they may be of appealing to OEMs looking to differentiate in a crowded market. To that end, while these products have seen little public hype thus far, we believe SLAB has a win in Apple’s upcoming iWatch (late 2H14 or early 2015).

The last line does sort of give you an idea about when we should be expecting the iWatch!

Will Apple’s iWatch offering make the scenario for Smartwatches any good?

without comments

ipod-nano-watchesWith the markets raving and experimenting the fundamental uses of Smartwatches, one thing that remains common is the ongoing rumor roundups of two biggies – Apple and Google entering and saving the sad state of watches that act as an extension of our smartphones as of now.

While users on other side trying to make do with the learning curve associated with these devices, there are some like the Pebble who have really shown a direction to these manufacturers. One manufacturer may be looking to shake things up – Apple . Reports suggest that Apple intends to introduce a pair of iWatch models with varying screen sizes: one for men, and one for women.

Apple is apparently planning to bring in two variants – one for men and the other for women with differences only in the screen sizes with one measuring 1.7 inches and the other at 1.3 inches respectively both boasting OLED displays for better readability. However, it’s wise to wait as of now till we have any word on what apple intends to make these devices work on and how different will they really be compared to current offerings.
