Today what we are seeing something that is precision engineered to look like a real life 5.5 inch iPhone 6. The space grey version can be see above, it has a bigger and prominent screen on the front.Instead of chamfered edges, it has rounded edges. The golden version can be seen below.
According to reports, we should expect a faster, A8 chip, with improved battery life, and probably a larger screen resolution. These are said to be the closest to the final version of the iPhone. Do they impress you?
This year’s iPhone is going to be bigger in size and push the limits on the amount of metal used on the surface. The Apple logo would be used as a cutout for antennas. Either wireless charging or NFC may see it’s presence on the iPhone 6 too. Shown above are shots leaked by a Taiwanese celebrity. Many sources bet that this might be the real deal, and what we are looking at may finally end up on retail shelves.
Either way, we are getting near to the launch, hopefully more details on their way.
So Apple announced the much awaited and rumored iOS 8 today, and while there might not be groundbreaking differences on the surface, there are quite a lot inside the system, it is indeed difficult to rate them, so here are 5 features in random order, that we think are really important when talking about iOS 8
Interactive Notifications :
So if switching between multiple accounts on different networks and replying to emails make you go crazy since it makes you quit your current app, Interactive Notifications pop on the top edge of the screen with in-line reply options, even for third-party apps with a crazy level of interaction available.
Handsfree Siri :
So you’re in love with your iPhone, but do not have access to the super cool Moto X like handsfree operations, iOS 8 got your covered here too. The new Siri on iOS 8 would let you operate and interact handsfree by saying “Hey! Siri” and then instruct it to perform a variety of different operations, even song search!
Third Party Keyboards :
Apple is still bridging those gaps here, a piece of functionality that iOS users couldn’t yet make use of is installing third-party keyboards, iOS 8 makes that possible, so now you can install your favourite swipey, gesture based, whatever keyboard you like – more personalisation.
Continuity more than convergence, that was the mantra behind desinging the communication between iPhones and the iMacs. Now your iPhone can interact with the iPad and actually peek into what tasks you are performing so that you can pick it up on your iPad or vice versa. It works with the new OS X 10.10 too.
HealthKit & HomeKit :
Turns out those rumors about Apple going deep into the health space were true. HealthKit is the all in one consolidated space for all your health apps that track your health via smartbands, etc. It not only monitors data, but can also report such critical information to your doctor and even help you take an appointment.
HomeKit is Apples take at home automation. Various manufacturers with different connected hardware have a common tunnel of interaction with HomeKit. Data from your iPhone or iPad can be used to send commands and check status and now, even Siri can catch phrases like, ” It’s time to sleep” to shut down you garage door, etc.
Obviously there a lot of features that we haven’t mentioned here that make iOS 8 the evolutionary update that it is. Which is your favourite one?
Apple’s two budget models (the 4 and 4s rather than the 5c) helped the company reach record sales in India, China, Russia and Brazil which are considered developing market. Apple was offering a buyback program on the Apple iphone 4 and 4s. The buyback program is now over since the 4S is the new budget offering.
Apple has consistently been breaking it’s sales records with every iteration of their iPhone; rumors about the new iPhone 6 seem to be building since Apple has said that there will be a couple of rather new changes that they would be implementing this time over(maybe like every time that they do?)
Foxconn electronics, major manufacturer for Apple’s higher-end iPhones, is apparently expecting orders of as much as 90 million iPhone 6 units in 2014 according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times, which cited data from Citigroup Global Markets as indicating. To give you a perspective, the growth in 2013 was 13%, what this news would mean is that growth could be as much as 23%.
Sonny Dickson tweeted out a few pics revealing a very slim frame that sure seems to match the sort of manufacturing work we’ve seen for Apple products in the past. While he admits that he’s “not 100% sure” that this really is the iPhone 6 back panel, it definitely looks the part.
And just ot give you’ll a clear perspective of how big this iPhone is compared to it’s previous version, 9To5Mac placed the back panel over each other via photo editing techniques and the bump in dimensions here is pretty clear. We have been hearing about this 5 inch + screen size on the next generation iPhone and that sure sounds good but are you ready for a bigger iPhone?!
There is reason to talk about the iWatch since there was a rumour stating that when we got an update about a possible timetable. Another report later stated that Apple might not be able to cope with the mass production needs of this hardware pushing it to late 2014.
October is when Apple would apparently get the iWatch to the masses. Apple is much clear about it’s stand on wireless charging : they hate it! Until now, new rumours suggest that Apple is looking at Wireless charging as an option and is serious on developing this technology for it’s wearable accessory.
Over the course of the last few months, rumours about the Apple testing varied versions of the future iPad are increasing.
The entire rumour cloud boils down to two common and strong leaks that say that two variants may finally see the light of the day out of the 5 sizes being tested. While one would have a 2K display (presumably the same 2048 x 1536 resolution with which we’re already familiar), one could have a 4K screen.
The 2k iPad would have a density of 200 ppi while the 4k for the same 12.9 inches would have a 400 ppi – the highest for a tablet.
