With the markets raving and experimenting the fundamental uses of Smartwatches, one thing that remains common is the ongoing rumor roundups of two biggies – Apple and Google entering and saving the sad state of watches that act as an extension of our smartphones as of now.
While users on other side trying to make do with the learning curve associated with these devices, there are some like the Pebble who have really shown a direction to these manufacturers. One manufacturer may be looking to shake things up – Apple . Reports suggest that Apple intends to introduce a pair of iWatch models with varying screen sizes: one for men, and one for women.
Apple is apparently planning to bring in two variants – one for men and the other for women with differences only in the screen sizes with one measuring 1.7 inches and the other at 1.3 inches respectively both boasting OLED displays for better readability. However, it’s wise to wait as of now till we have any word on what apple intends to make these devices work on and how different will they really be compared to current offerings.
Google Glass had already got the media abuzz with it’s release but even then it was still a device that we expected to receive multiple iterations to be a real consumer product. With Rochester Optical – a New York based company announced that it would be developing prescription lense attachments for Google Glass . This announcement is a big level for Glass to be even close to real world use.
The arm mount would fit Glass perfectly and would be available in a number of colors. Tim Moore, one of the early Glass Explorers, will join its prescription-lens project.
These lenses are expected to be available by early 2014.
So, of course Nokia would be working on a smartwatch of their own. They have had smart necklaces, armbands, pretty much everything, and of course everyone else is doing it. Now we get to see a working prototype, which looks quite interesting.
Dr Kent Lyons, who worked on developing the Nokia smartwatch concept above, codenamed Nokia ‘Facet’, sent Engadget a video of the smartwatch in action, and it looks quite interesting to say the least. The device uses 6 different facets, basically it has six screens that can be removed to work on their own, attached to the dedicated armband to use as a weird smartwatch or whatever you wish to do with it, it seems. Each screen can run a different application or task, so theoretically you could browse tweets, while making an appointment on your calendar and sending a quick email while replying to a text.
Of course if it ever makes it to the open market, which is highly unlikely to happen, it would cost pretty much the same as or more than a Samsung Galaxy Gear. So, the choice is simple, buy a Pebble…

So, you just managed to get your hands on the Huawei Ascend P6, otherwise known as the worlds slimmest smartphone at just 6.18mm. You have a slight problem though, despite them including a case in the box, it kind of sucks and you would like something with more style, colour and elegance, you want some cool accessories, but they’re quite scarce.
I own a Huawei Ascend P6, I am proud to. It is an elegant device, usability is great and if I didn’t hate Android and its cluttered user experience and inconsistent application ecosystem, I might even have used the Ascend P6 as my main device, which it currently is not. I do use it regularly though, but I have found only one serious flaw; the lack of accessories available for the device, which is why I have highlighted three of my picks right here.
Amzer® TPU Hybrid Case – Solid White For Huawei Ascend P6
The Amzer® TPU Hybrid Case – Solid White For Huawei Ascend P6 is a pretty great TPU rubber case. It is sleek and slim, just like the Ascend P6. It has great grip and is quite the looker. You want an accessory that compliments your device, yet saves it from the occasional bump and drop. This case is great. It’s shipping right now, and it costs JUST $6.95. Have a look, I am more than certain you will be happy with the choice.

Amzer® Capacitive Touch Screen Knit Gloves – Pink
Winter is once again around the corner, at least for you guys over in the Northern Hemisphere. Well, the Amzer® Capacitive Touch Screen Knit Gloves – Pink is the perfect choice for your Huawei Ascend P6. Use your device without sacrificing limbs to the horrid winter cold. It’s just $14.95 and quite snuggly warm!
So, Apple and Samsung have launched their latest flagships in the form of the Apple iPhone 5s and Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but how exactly do the devices differ, other than size, how strong and durable are these devices for everyday use, can they take a bump or two? Well, guess you’ll have to watch and see.
The guys over at GizmoSlip did some drop tests on both the iPhone 5s and Galaxy Note 3, and the results are quite astonishing. Both devices are dropped on their backs, sides and fronts in three separate controlled tests each and you would never guess who wins in the end. The aluminum metal iPhone 5s loses its rear glass pieces on the back drop, gets scratched on its side drop and the screen shatters on the front drop. The Galaxy Note 3 on the other hand has minimal damage to its leather rear, minor scratches from the side drop and the screen is left perfectly intact on the screen drop thanks to its raised sides. So much for the metal vs plastic (or leather) argument it seems, Samsung may have finally conquered the design wars.
But then again, a stylish case from Amzer can protect your smartphone from a lot of damage and our Amzer ShatterProof screen guards will keep that iPhone screen intact from most crazy daily damage tests. The choice is simple, choose Amzer!
Apple is expected to launch some exciting new products on October 22 according to a report by AllThingsD, coincidentally it will be the same day Microsoft’s new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 goes on sale as well as the day Nokia is expected to launch their new tablet line up.
According to AllThingsD, Apple will be holding an invitation-only event on October 22 to showcase some new products. These new products may include, but not be limited to the Apple iPad 5 which is set to feature a drastic redesign as well as the addition of a TouchID sensor, an iPad Mini 2 which may feature a Retina display as well as a TouchID sensor and a champagne coloured offering, new MacBook Air notebooks with Retina displays and the new OS X Mavericks update, a possible new Mac Pro, a possible Apple iOS-powered console and an Apple iTV. Apple’s iWatch is only expected to hit in early 2014.
If rumours are correct, Apple is set to dazzle, and be quite the thorn in Microsoft’s back, for whom the day would be much more important as Windows powered tablets come of age, and likely fail.

The Apple iPhone 5S has just gone on sale and, as the diehard fan that you are, you went out and bought yourself one. One thing leads to another and before you know it you’ve smashed your display. Now what? Your warranty won’t cover a new display and repair centers ask exuberant amounts of money to replace the display, especially considering how new the iPhone 5S.
How do you repair a broken iPhone 5S screen? Repairs Universe has created this nifty video showing you how to disassemble the iPhone 5S and subsequently replace your broken display. It is quite simple, you unscrew the bottom screws, use a suction cup and prying tool to lift the display, unplug the fingerprint sensor, unscrew and unplug the display cables then remove the front camera, fingerprint sensor and other sensors as well as the speaker. Then you reverse all of these steps with your brand new iPhone 5S display that you purchased prior to your adventure into the inner workings of your iPhone 5S.
iSuppli says the iPhone 5S’ display assembly costs $41, but of course those available on the market is much more, $285 in fact. Add to that all of the tools that you’ll need and you’re set to pay roughly $299 to replace your iPhone 5S display, which is pretty much the majority of the price for a new iPhone. So, how do you prevent yourself from ever getting stuck in this situation? The answer is quite simple.
