We usually have mocks from our source but this time around, what we see is a full blown screen grab. This is happening and coming to Android very soon. Google I/O is just around the corner, and a with a new version of Android may also be headed to the Nexus devices.
Nearby would be essentially tapping inside the devices that are able to sense peer devices inside a particular virtual periphery. Nearby gathers information, and it’s interesting that in addition to GPS-based sensor data, Google’s reaching out to things like Bluetooth and even your phone’s microphone. This information would be then used to verify that the devices are indeed in the same area.
Do you think this is something that is essential for an Operating System to have? Would you want to see something else too?
