Facebook messenger is one product from Facebook that has been developed ground-up to look innovative and operate in a new fashion, with it’s update, it brings quite a few new updates to the existing app.
One of the biggest and welcome changes is that one can now make free calls using WiFi. Yes, you can also use it over a normal data connection but it would not be recommended unless you have an unlimited plan. Here’s the full change-log highlighting what to expect in the latest update:
- Groups: Now you can create groups for the people you message most. Name them, set group photos and keep them all in one place
- Forwarding: Want to send a message or photo to someone who isn’t in the conversation? Just tap to forward it on
- Conversation Shortcuts: Create a shortcut so that you can get to any conversation right from your home screen
- Free Calls: Talk as long as you want and stay in touch wherever you are. (Calls are free over Wi-Fi. Otherwise, standard data charges apply).
