Nvidia has always been showcasing their new chips at CES and this year is no different. Nvidia Unveiled their latest Superphone Chip at the first day of CES 2014 and here is what the company has to offer:
The new K1 chip comes in two pin-to-pin compatible versions. The first is a 32-bit quad-core chip with a 4-plus-1 ARM Cortex A15 CPU, and the second is a custom Nvidia-designed 64-bit ‘Denver’ dual “super core” CPU that is based on the ARMv8 architecture. Both versions of the chip feature the same impressive 192-core Kepler GPU, delivering what Nvidia claims will bring “next-gen console gaming graphics” to mobile devices.
Blown away!? Don’t be excited though, the initial demos did show noticeable lag and while Nvidia does put it off in the name of early prototypes, all these number are not always indicative of day to day performance.
