What is made of aluminum with a piece of 64-bit silicon making it tick? The iPhone 5s of course. What is plastic and not so affordable as you expected? Yes, it is indeed the iPhone 5c. Who currently tops the US smartphone sales charts? You’re no fun, it’s Apple of course!
According to a new report by Canaccord Genuity, the iPhone 5s topped US smartphone sales charts in the month of September, despite only landing close to the end of the month. The iPhone 5c and the Samsung Galaxy S4 fight closely for the second spot and no concrete data gives either the benefit of the doubt. Considering the two devices just launched, their large sales figures are common sense, but it should put everyone who said the iPhone 5s, and more specifically iPhone 5c, wouldn’t sell as well as previous models did. Apple managed to sell 9 million units on its launch weekend and is slated for 52 million units by the end of the year. Not bad for a company that doesn’t sell five gazillion different devices. With Best Buy, Walmart and the works having discounted the iPhone 5c by as much as $55, Apple is sure to be the leader of the pack for the month to come with the holiday season already approaching.
