The world’s largest PC vendor, Lenovo, has been making quite the splash in the smartphone market and their latest offering continues the company’s legacy of some pretty decent, unique devices. Don’t count on another Intel Atom based smartphone though, no the Lenovo Vibe X is a different kind of beast.
The Lenovo Vibe X, or IdeaPhone S960, is aimed directly at the Huawei Ascend P6, currently touted as the world’s thinnest smartphone at 6.18mm. The Vibe X however is a bit thicker at 6.9mm. The Lenovo Vibe X packs quite the punch in its slim body however with a 5-inch FHD display, a 1.5GHz quad core MediaTek SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 2,000mAh battery as well as a 13MP rear facing camera and 5MP front facing camera. The Lenovo Vibe X features a premium polycarbonate plastic body along with Gorilla Glass 3 to keep your screen covered. Sadly it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean instead of the newer Android 4.3, although an update in the future is more than likely.
Another sad part is that the Lenovo Vibe X is unlikely to hit the US or European markets, but it is more than likely to hit Indian consumers, who have welcomed the Lenovo K900 with open arms and hearts.
