Just when you though the Call of Duty franchise was all the rage, the latest installment to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, GTA V, has shattered all of the Call of Duty video game sales record to date as it flowed past $1 billion in sales just three days after going on sale.
The new Grand Theft Auto V video game shattered entertainment sales records today after it passed the $1 billion in sales mark just three days after going on sale across the world. On its first day of sales, the popular role playing game hit $800 million in sales already and it is expected to grow fast for the next few days. In comparison, the previous record holder, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, took a whole fifteen days to hit $1 billion in sales, showing you just how popular the GTA series is, and that piracy most definitely doesn’t affect sales by that much of a margin.
Rockstar Games has teased the game for quite some time, even delayed it, which most certainly created huge anticipation for the game, several years after the launch of its predecessor GTA IV, which once again featured Liberty City.
