Samsung’s smartwatch has been rumoured since leaks suggesting that Apple was working on an iWatch, it’s been called that Galaxy Altius and now the Galaxy Gear, but what we have been waiting for most has been what exactly will be inside of the upcoming Samsung smartwatch, until now.
GigaOM has gotten their hands on some alleged specifications for the upcoming device and along with previous alleged leaks we can finally formulate a bigger spec sheet. The Samsung Galaxy Gear will apparently feature a 2.5-inch square OLED display with a 320×320 pixel resolution and a 3-inch body, inside it will allegedly feature a 1.5GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor, 1GB of RAM, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE as well as run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. What’s more the Galaxy Gear will apparently feature a 2MP as well as a accelerometer to turn the device on when lifter. The Galaxy Gear will apparently come in different variant for developers to try write applications on.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear is rumoured to be launched on September 4 at Samsung’s pre-IFA Unpacked Part 2 event in Berlin.
