Just when you thought Nokia had their head screwed on right with their three digit naming scheme, the Finns go and start a four digit naming scheme again. The latest addition to the ‘family’ seems to be the rumoured Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet device as allegedly caught on camera above.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is set to be the second Lumia device with a four digit name, after the camera centric Nokia Lumia 1020 was announced just over a month ago. The Lumia 1520 is allegedly shown above alongside the smaller Lumia 1020, depicting the device’s actual size. The super sized Lumia 1520 will allegedly feature a 6-inch 1080p touch display alongside a camera that is likely to be larger than 20MP. The polycarbonate body is once again seen and the device obviously runs a newer version of Windows Phone 8, most likely Windows Phone 8.1.
It remains to be seen as to exactly when Nokia will officially launch the device, especially considering that current Windows Phone 8 software limits display resolution to 720p, meaning support for that oversized 1080p screen will have to come first.
