Nokia today unveiled “something BIG,” at least by their standards. The Nokia Lumia 625 has officially been announced today as the successor to the Nokia Lumia 620, which launched in December. The Lumia 625′s 4.7-inch display is the largest display Nokia has ever featured on one of their smartphones and certainly is a step in the right direction, if market trends are taken into consideration.

The new Nokia Lumia 625 features a 4.7-inch touch display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of memory that’s expandable with up to 64GB microSD cards, a VGA front facing camera, a 5MP rear camera, LTE and HSPA+ support as well as a 2,000mAh battery. The Lumia 625 is most definitely meant to sit right between the entry level and midrange smartphone sectors and brings a full set of features to a budget price, $290 to be exact. The Lumia 625 will, like all Lumias, come in a wide variety of colours including Orange, Bright Green, Yellow, Black and White.

The Nokia Lumia 625 is set to go on sale later this quarter, with Chinese leaks last week indicating that it will hit the Asian country first. The Lumia 625 will also come with a set of Coloud BOOM headphones, part of a new budget range of audio accessories by Nokia.
