Apple is going green these days. Not only has their upcoming Apple Campus 2 been designed to harness the elements, but now they’re working on harnessing the sun to power their Reno data centers too.

According to GigaOm, Apple is planning a to build a 137 acre solar farm next to its Reno data centers. The farm will generate as much as 20 megawatts of electricity that will power the data centers as well as some of the surrounding areas by means of grid reinsertion. Mirrors will apparently be used to focus sunlight on the panels that could make it up to seven times more efficient.
This won’t be Apple’s first solar farm either, the company has two arrays in North Carolina as well.
