Sony first introduced their smartwatch early last year, it gained a following, but not as much traction as the company has hoped for. Sony’s smartwatch was an interesting concept at its time, but like all innovations it had its disadvantage, such as battery life. Now, the company seems to be preparing to announce a successor to the Sony Smartwatch and it may just pay off. With the likes of Apple, Samsung, LG and Google rumoured to be working on smartwatches of their own, Sony may just lead the revolution, if they get it right that is. Sony’s Twitter account revealed that they are planning to announce a new smartwatch at Mobile Asia Expo next week, Tuesday to be specific and may launch it alongside the Xperia ZU.
