After quite a while of rumours and leaks, Samsung’s latest tablets have been announced; the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and 10.1. The two tablets feature mediocre specifications that won’t stand a chance against most of the competitors. Asus also announced the 6-inch FonePad Note that is set to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note III.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 features an 8-inch TFT display with WXGA resolution, a 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB of storage, a 5MP camera and a 4,450mAh battery. An LTE version will also be available once the device official goes on sale. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 features a 10.1-inch WXGA display, a 1.6GHz Intel dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 3MP camera and a 6,800 mAh battery. It will also have either 16GB or 32GB of storage with an LTE enabled option. Both run Android 4.2.
Asus also took the time to announce the FonePad Note, a 6-inch phablet set to take on the Galaxy Note III on its own grounds. It packs a 6-inch 1080p display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom dual core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 8MP camera. It will also pack DC-HSPA+ connectivity with speeds of up to 42MBps.
