NASA lets you take a look at the closest galaxy in 160 megapixels

without comments

Nothing like some good old space porn to remind us how small we really are. NASA has released a 160 megapixel image of the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy, which is the closest galaxy to our Milky Way Galaxy.

Have you tried out the next best thing for your phone/tablet? Take a look at our Amzer ShatterProof screen protectors!

The 160 megapixel photo of the LMC comes courtesy of NASA’s Swift satellite which saw thousands of images stitched together to make one breathtaking portrait. The image shows immense detail of the LMC which is a tenth the size of the Milky Way galaxy and ways only 1% of the Milky Way. It is located an extreme 163,000 light-years away and orbits our own galaxy.

A 55MP photo of the Small Magellanic Cloud is also available and you can check out NASA’s site for more.
