Mailbox co-founder and CEO, Gentry Underwood, recently spoke at the DEMO Europe conference hinting at a desktop client when he said that it “is something we have to do in order to stay competitive,” and “it’s on our roadmap.” The move will most likely see the application coming to Windows 8 and Windows RT, which may see a Windows Phone version later too. The application has been criticized for only being available on iOS and using GMail email accounts. Many have wanted to see the service come to other platforms such as Android and save some space for more email services such as Outlook and Yahoo Mail.
