Ex-BlackBerry users eager to get their hands on BlackBerry Messenger for Android or iOS will be happy to know that the company will release the application for download on June 27, at least that is if a tweet from T-Mobile UK is to believed.
Take a look at our range of BlackBerry Q10 accessories, now available for purchase!
Said tweet has since been deleted, but clearly states that the popular BlackBerry instant messaging application would be hitting Android and iOS on June 27. When BlackBerry officially announced that the application would go platform, they would not say when exactly it would be released, but merely stated that it would land sometime this summer. The move will see BlackBerry take advantage of the wide user range on the two platforms, giving them expansion from their current estimated 60 million users.
What’s more, the company’s COO has let it slip that certain Android OEMs will be offering the application right out of the box, giving BBM an edge over the likes of WhatsApp, WeChat and Kik.
