Common sense and recent rumours have suggested that ASUS and Google are preparing a successor to the hugely popular ASUS Google Nexus 7, which by all indications has become the best selling Android powered tablet of all time. The $199 tablet took the world by storm when it brought a great set of features to a low price range.

The ASUS K009 tablet has just passed through the FCC’s test centers with what appears to be Nexus branding. The mysterious tablet has been approved and is apparently cleared as a device that will be used for marketing purposes. The tablet is shown featuring a quad core Qualcomm processor, front and rear cameras, LTE and a 4,000mAh battery. The device is expected to launch alongside the K008 as the next Nexus 7 tablet that is set to continue the sub-$200 trend.

The next Nexus 7 may go under another name, but is expected to launch later this year featuring the next version of Android known as Key Lime Pie.
