Mostly overshadowed by the announcement that they have acquired Tumblr for a cool $1.1 billion, Yahoo’s product event yesterday revealed the new Flickr; with an photo focussed UI and a whopping 1TB of free storage for every user.

They acquired Flickr for a mere $35 million and it subsequently lost all most of its photo sharing appeal, but it’s back, and this time it is set to take on the big dogs to retake the crown as the best photo sharing site. The new Flickr features a completely redesigned user interface that focusses on what it does best, photo sharing. The new Flickr gives users 1TB of free storage and allows full resolution photo uploads. An update to its Android application has already gone out bringing some similar features as Google’s Snapseed and Facebook’s Instagram.
