Yahoo has been on a seemingly record-breaking buying spree as of late, earlier this week they snapped up popular micro blogging site Tumblr, now they’re rumoured to be interested in acquiring popular pay-TV provider, Hulu, for an undisclosed amount of money.

Rumours of Hulu being up for sale has been making the rounds for quite a while now, the latest interested buyer is rumoured to be none other than Yahoo. A source said to be familiar with the matter, told AllThingsD that Yahoo has placed a bid for the video service. Other bidders are said to include The Chernin Group lead by Peter Chernin, a former Hulu executive as well as Time Warner Cable, Guggenheim Digital, Silverlake, William Moriss Endeavor, Directv and KKR. Bids are said to be in the region of $500 million and up.
Yahoo has been under scrutiny as of late for the boatloads of acquisitions they’ve been making including Tumblr earlier this week followed by PlayerScale. Marissa Mayer is up to something and Yahoo may make a comeback in the near future so keep your eyes peeled.
