In the interview with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, has remained mum on some of its future products, but if you’re good at reading between the lines and taking hints, you would have realized that Apple is up to something. Highlights included Cook mentioning that Google Glass lacks a broad appeal, the company has no plans for a social network and they are not interested in acquiring social mapping platform Waze. Cook goes on to say that Apple’s TV offering is growing more popular, subtly hinting that an ‘iTV’ may be on the horizon. He mentions how much he likes his Nike Fuelband and that the wearable industry has a lot of potential. He also mentions that Apple will be making iOS a bit more open in the future, to give developers space to grow.
Tim Cook also goes on to talk about ‘phablets’ mentioning, subtly, what Apple has found problematic in their labs. He continues to mention how Apple still has quite a few more game changing products up their sleeves and says that Apple will be revealing the next version of iOS at their World Wide Developer Conference in two weeks time.
