With T-Mobile US’ recent success as the UnCarrier, AT&T has been left without a competitive offering of their own. Well, AT&T have launched a new subsidiary known as Aio Wireless that will provide prepaid plans and devices using AT&T’s broad based tower systems.

Aio Wireless will be providing AT&T prepaid data plans and devices to users wanting more, but it’s currently exclusive to Orlando, Houston and Tampa. The plans seem to be reasonably competitive with it starting at $40 for unlimited calls and texts as well as a 250MB data allowance, for $55 the data is amped up to 2GB per month and for $70 per month the data goes all the way up to 7GB per month. Device prices start from as low as $30 and prospective buyers will also be able to buy an iPhone 5 for $649.99.
The new offering isn’t without its hickups though, there is no LTE support at all with no date that the feature can be expected, and Aio remains mum as to when the services will expand to other towns and cities.
