Nokia today sent out invites to the global media for an event on May 9 in India, apparently it is “time to shift gears.”
Amzer’s line of Nokia Lumia 520 accessories is unparalleled, take a look now!
Before you get excited about the “shift gears” part, no, Nokia will not be shifting from Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. Apparently the event will showcase Nokia’s new redesigned feature phone line, after the N9-esque devices were leaked earlier this year. The devices are set to change the face of Nokia’s feature phone line, currently called the Asha line. Where better for Nokia to announce a new line of feature phones than one of their strongest feature phone markets; India. The size of the invite card with the date on on the invitation seems to hint towards a smaller device as well.
Do you think a new line of feature phones will help Nokia out? Do you think they would be able to compete with other entry level smart phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Pocket?
