Microsoft set to take on the likes of the Nexus 7, Kindle Fire and iPad Mini with 7-inch Surface RT?
Microsoft’s Surface RT was dead on arrival, it lacked many of the applications its competitors offered, it didn’t offer half as much features as its desktop counterpart did and Microsoft didn’t even provide a proper Office suite for the platform, but that hasn’t stopped them from preparing a next generation of Windows RT devices.

According to industry insiders, Microsoft executives have ordered that a 7-inch Surface RT be prepared for the company’s next line of Surface tablets, which may still be quite a way from being released onto the market. The step is an effort to compete better with the likes of iOS and Android which dominates the tablet market with tablets such as the Apple iPad Mini, Asus Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire.
As consumers shift from PCs to tablets and more specifically smaller tablets, the company will try to focus effort to keep up with demand instead of focussing on Windows 8 which has failed to catch on. Do you think a 7-inch Surface RT stands a chance?
